At Millbrook Woodcraft, we specialize in crafting wooden handles designed with strength, style, and simplicity in mind. Whether fitted beside the front door, at the top of the stairs, on a yacht, or next to the toilet, our grab rails have helped hundreds of people in need of a subtle support that is strong, comfortable, and beautiful to match the surrounding decor. To make a strong wooden grab rail, we bend a piece of wood so that the grain structure is continuous throughout the bend. This process involves steaming the wood, adapted from traditional wooden boat builders' methods, and we utilize woods such as oak, ash, American walnut, and more. The handles are fitted with two screws at either end, which can either be left visible (in contrasting brass) or covered with matching wooden plugs. Why settle for an ordinary plastic handle when we can provide you with a beautiful, handcrafted one? Each piece is unique, hand-made in our workshop on the UK’s south coast, and finished with 3 coats of satin hardwax oil for interior use or gloss yacht varnish for exterior use. These are one-offs and can be customized to your specifications. Other sizes are also available.
